There was no room to be shy
New faces and old friends showed up March 2010 to the Loews Hotel to take full advantage of LPN's monthly networking sessions. Named the "Great Debut," the microphone was passed to every attendee, giving them the opportunity to introduce themselves and share unique traits and skills they have. Inspector Dan Castro led the activity and put his foot down on 2 main LPN event rules: #1: Leave with 2-3 business cards of someone you didn't know, and #2: Bring a friend to the next event. A success! ... Extra shout out to Mr. David Cruz, an outstanding photographer that knows how to capture the LPN spirit! |

Were you a dot or a non-dot?
LPN decided to add an extra spice to networking by creating the "Need for Speed." Networking Sessions are focused on creating new contacts and expanding your network. In this case Speed Networking did the trick. Separated into two groups (dots & non-dots), people were paired up & given one minute to get to know one another. One minute proved to be too little time to say enough, but enough so that in under one hour, everyone had met everyone during the exciting experience. |

"Who do you know best in the room & who do you know least:" The ice-breaker question as the microphone was passed around during the event (it wasn't fair to mention co-workers or family).
This made it hard to resist the urge to walk up to the person who mentioned knew you the least. |

It all started with a networking activity in which colors and shapes on the name-tags did the ice-breaking so people could make new connections and strengthen previous ones. Then the microphone was passed around the room as everyone introduced themselves the crowd with a 20-second speech, making no one a stranger!

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania welcomed Latino music, dancers, speaker and audience to learn how Puerto Rican heritage's impact on the city dates back more years than many expect. Historical documents, live music, an inspirational lecture followed by a reception marked a great ending to Hispanic Heritage Month. |

AL DIA News' 9th Annual Latino Job Fair took place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center May 2010 with the objective of being "The Place to Recruit Latinos"
Exhibitors included companies exclusively seeking bilingual individuals in all areas and in all levels of employment such as Abington Memorial Hospital, AFLAC, McDonalds Corporation, Origlio Beverage, PEPCO Holdings, Philadelphia Coca Cola Bottling Company, Philadelphia Gas Works, and more. The Latino Professional Network was a proud sponsor. |
